The Wolfert Dalton and the VSO vmbo/havo department of Mytylschool De Brug in Rotterdam are getting new sustainable school buildings with sports facilities on the Argonautenweg in Hillegersberg-Schiebroek.
At the intersection of Argonautenweg and Jasonweg, the schools will be given a prominent and visible location in a unique park-like setting. 850 pupils will be able to attend school in Wolfert Dalton's new building. De Brug, a public school for pupils with physical disabilities, additional mental disabilities and/or long-term illnesses, will accommodate 80 pupils.
The new modern school buildings will each have their own character, but together they will form a single entity in the green surroundings. In the outdoor space, students and staff can play sports, garden and relax in the greenery.
This project is being carried out in phases, as soon as the first building is ready it can be put into use while the second building is still being realized. The first part, The Wolfert Dalton, has already been completed and will be in use by the end of 2023. On the spot where the old building stood, the new De Brug building will be realized after demolition.
Bim&Beyond was involved in this project by BAM for the right BIM support. There was already a design from the architect, DP6, so we were able to tackle this in phases. First we did an adjustment of the technical design, then we started the executive design. At this stage, the installer was also hooked into the process, as were the main suppliers. We call this a hybrid BIM model, so we can incorporate the correct information directly from the supplier and installer into the drawing of the executive model. This brings all the main elements together in one correct model with which the execution can be realized.
